The Jacksons take on the Western Hemisphere: Transcontinental Powder Run

My brother and I, like many ambitious brothers, share more than a few dynamic interests. Fitness. Movies. Hunter S. Thompson. Beef jerky. Riverboat gambling trips. But at the forefront of our similarities is a shared passion for adventures, new experiences, doing and seeing everything this great life has to offer. As such, this new Red-Bull-sponsored web series BROTHERS ON THE RUN holds a special place in my heart.

For our Friday adrenaline rush, then, I present you with the  Jackson brothers, John and Eric. John, a stoney dreadlocked snowboarder from Crowley Lake, just outside Mammoth, who for the past few years claimed honors and titles as one of the best snowboarders in the world. And Eric, the younger brother who, while John recovered from injury last year, stepped into his own spotlight as an equally-well-regarded pro snowboarder. Just the intro to this pilot, culled from footage of the Jacksons in ART OF FLIGHT (John) and People’s GOOD LOOK (Eric) is sick, chock full of footage sure to make your toes tingle and your adrenal glands pump.

The long and short of it – two brothers, sick snowboarders and all-around action sport dilettantes (with requisite comical quips and proficiency with guitars, guns, fishing rods, other action sports like surfing and rock climbing, as well as an insatiable hunger for travel) decide to road trip it from AK to Chile, follow one road from top of North America to bottom of South America, snowboarding and engaging in any and all extreme activities when the opportunities present themselves. This first episode alone has some epic spinal fractures, skeet shooting off a fishing boat, and the promise of what’s sure to be an epic pow run with none other than snowgod Travis Rice himself.

Let the adventure begin. Happy Friday

- Ryan
